Employee Engagement
We know that engagement with our employees is a contributing factor to commercial success. Over 80% of our employees have been with Atkins for 12 months or longer, which compares well with other leading professional services firms. In our employee satisfaction surveys, engagement is listed as a key factor.
Listening to our people
Each year, Atkins employees are invited to take part in our employee engagement survey ‘Viewpoint’. In the 2008 survey, 79% of our employees took part and our Employee Engagement Index - a measure of how our people view the company and the how they are contributing to its success - rose to 73%.
Sharing knowledge
To help share information across the Group, in 2008 we also launched a new Group intranet for Atkins employees which uses the latest technology to share information in audio, video and written format. After one month around 15,000 people had started to use the new intranet to connect with colleagues, find information to help their do their jobs more easily and to give feedback.
