Retention
We know that engagement with our employees is a contributing factor to commercial success. Our employee retention compares very well with most large professional services businesses with an index of 84.3% and in 2008/09 our overall staff turnover reduced markedly to 11.4% from 15.4% on 2007/08. Staff turnover by region is shown opposite.
Employee engagement
We continue to invest and develop two-way internal communications channels to enable us to share information to inspire, motivate and engage our employees around the world and to receive their feedback. For example, in 2008 we hosted a live conference to explain our vision and strategy. 500 delegates attended the London venue while a further 9,000 employees joined the conference online.
Listening to our people
Each year, we measure employee engagement across the Group via our annual survey ‘Viewpoint’, an online survey open to all our employees.
We also monitor feedback from people who leave Atkins. Encouragingly, over 80% of leavers would recommend Atkins as a place to work and would consider working with us again at some point in their career.
