For Atkins, investing in people is as important as product Research & Development is for a technology firm. Our people are our product. We continue to invest in training and developing our employees, and in 2007/08 we invested £20.7m in this activity.
We recognise that individuals want to progress their careers in different ways. At Atkins, all career routes have equal status whether they are in project management, in a technical discipline or in commercial management.
Our managers work with employees to develop tailored career development plans, and we maintain a focus on career mobility by actively encouraging our employees to seize opportunities in other Atkins business segments or geographical regions.
