The future depends on what we do today
We work with our clients and partners including governments, investors and other authorities to achieve economic and environmental resilience through infrastructure and technological investment.
We have created and continue to invest in our ‘technical networks’ through which we aim to support career paths for our technical specialists. Our business management system is embedded throughout our UK operations, establishing common processes to improve performance. Work to harmonise business controls supporting technical delivery is ongoing.
World-class design requires professionals with vision, creativity, intuition and technical ability working in a framework that systematises the design journey and processes, enabling our professionals to freely apply their creative abilities to meet and exceed customer requirements. The most experienced designers in our organisation have developed universally accepted design principles to help us achieve our vision and support our drive for worldwide operational excellence. These core project delivery tenets recognise the evolutionary stages of a design from concept through to final delivery, targeting operational excellence, risk management, continuous improvement and customer focus – the drivers for Atkins’ industry leadership and success.
The Atkins design principles are now incorporated in the business management system as a directive, making them mandatory for all of our businesses and subject, like other parts of our business management system, to audit. Design principles have been embedded across Atkins through a worldwide programme of webinars delivered to all designers.
Our technical networks support the career paths of our technical specialists.
