Our principle: Inspire the next generation
Promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics to children and young adults to encourage them to become planners, designers, project managers and engineers of the future.
Inspiring the next generation of engineers to build a sustainable future will be critical to our success and to that of society.
Our principle: Sustainability knowledge and skills
Support our people on a development pathway to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
Our sustainability knowledge and skills principle commits us to supporting our people on a development pathway, equipping them to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
Our principle: Social and community investment
Encourage and support our people to realise their capability to contribute to the social, environment and economic health of our communities.
To enable our people to utilise their skills and expertise to support the social, environmental and economic health of our communities, we have formalised a volunteer programme in the UK. Some of the volunteering projects that have made best use of our skills include work with relief organisations such as Engineers Without Borders and RedR.
In America, the Atkins Foundation continues to serve the communities in which our people live and work, supporting programmes that improve quality of life and educate children in the areas of engineering, mathematics, science, and technology.
This year, this has included an exciting celebration of Engineering Week, with the help of some drones.
Our Hong Kong office has received a Caring Community award from Hong Kong Social Services.
Our principle: A healthy, safe and secure workplace
Promote and maintain the highest degree of physical, mental and social well-being in the workplace.
We aim to promote and achieve the highest degree of physical, mental and social wellbeing in our workplace.
Safe and Secure by Choice
We have rolled out Atkins’ Operating Safely (AOS), a bespoke system designed to help to keep our people safe when they visit sites and unfamiliar offices, across our global sectors.
As part of our Group wide approach to industry safety leadership, we are involved in a number of Consultants’ Health and Safety Forums globally:
- Asia Pacific
- Middle East and North Afirca
- United Kingdom and Europe
Our principle: An employer of choice
Value and respect our people; providing both advantage, and equality of opportunity in recruitment, development, recognition and reward.
We remain extremely supportive of apprenticeships, as a means of increasing recruitment to professions which we recognise will be under-resourced in the future. You can find out what we’re doing to play our part by watching the following videos.
