Atkins chartered engineer named Young Professional of the Year by IMechE - 18 October 2016
Simon Evans, a chartered mechanical engineer in Atkins’ Energy UK & Europe business, has been named the 2016 Young Professional of the Year by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
Simon said: “I’m honoured to have received this award and it’s a great privilege to have been acknowledged by the IMechE. Not only is this a great personal achievement for me, but it also demonstrates how Atkins has created the perfect environment for young engineers to thrive.”
The award is presented to a young member of the Institution who has demonstrated a high level of personal achievement, is a team player and acts as a role model for other young professionals, as well as making a personal impact through their day to day work.
Based in Atkins’ London office, Simon has well-rounded expertise in the energy industry having worked on offshore wind, oil and gas, power, aerospace and defence projects at Atkins, as well as international experience working in the Middle East, and was recently an innovation award finalist in the Energy UK Young Energy Professionals (YEP) Awards 2016.
