News releases 2017

Atkins has secured a place on the Overseas Principal Support Provider framework.

As one of six suppliers, Atkins will deliver multidisciplinary design, project management and technical services to the Ministry of Defence (MOD), the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ).

The four-year, £65m framework could see suppliers deployed overseas to any of the regions included in the MOD’s overseas estate and over 250 locations served by the FCO across the globe.

Atkins Account Director Andrew Albutt said:

“This framework gives us the opportunity to help the government deliver high-quality construction projects all over the world, with a focus on driving efficiencies through digital design and engineering whilst providing a tailored service to each of the government departments.

David Graham, Deputy Head of International Projects at the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, said:

“We are pleased to welcome these fantastic suppliers on board following a successful procurement process.  We look forward to working with them, FCO and other government departments to lead on projects that support our military personnel who live, train and work overseas.”

The framework will use mini-competitions among the six companies as the primary way of selecting the most appropriate contractor to deliver a project. This will allow government departments to share good practice and will ensure that they are working to the same standards on large overseas projects.
