News releases 2017

Atkins, one of Europe’s largest design and engineering firms, has been re-appointed to provide consultancy services for Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM’s) multi-disciplinary framework.

The four-year framework contract, which runs until 2020, will see Atkins continue to deliver services under twenty specialist and strategic lots. These include transport systems, strategy, engineering, asset management, consultancy and multi-disciplinary work packages.

The services will support TfGM, in line with its 2040 Transport Strategy, to drive regional transformation through improved multi-modal connectivity. This will build on efforts to provide residents and businesses with the infrastructure required to support local economic growth and encourage innovation, whilst protecting the environment.

Jason Pavey, Atkins’ local transport market director, said: “This an exciting opportunity as TfGM continues to take on greater responsibilities through the devolution process. As an established partner, Atkins takes pride in supporting TfGM to achieve their aspirations to provide residents with the leading multi modal connections needed for the Manchester city region to thrive and flourish.
