Richrath joins Atkins, leads digital asset management in North America - March 24, 2017
Atkins, one of the world’s leading design, engineering and project management consultancies, welcomes Scott Richrath as director of digital asset management (dAM) for North America. Richrath will lead efforts to introduce clients to emerging technologies that help streamline infrastructure preservation and management, and make critical data and information readily available throughout the life cycle of projects.
“Efficiency is an area of focus for our clients, and it is our responsibility to introduce them to technology that aids in monitoring and maintaining infrastructure,” said Donna Huey, client technology director, North America. “Scott’s expertise in dAM will assist clients in bringing engineers, planners, estimators, and other project players together to manage assets more efficiently.”
Richrath has more than 18 years of finance, technology, and asset and performance management experience. Prior to Atkins, he was principal and chief financial officer at a strategic planning and research firm, managing projects for state departments of transportation, Federal Highway Administration, National Cooperative Highway Research Program and other transportation entities.
For more than a decade, Richrath worked at Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Colorado Division of Water Resources, serving in several capacities, including project manager or sponsor on more than 20 consulting projects that involved developing risk-based asset management plans, asset management models, construction cost estimation and forecasting, and federal grant programs. During his tenure as CDOT’s chief financial officer, he led a Program and Cash Management initiative that helped increase the agency’s annual construction program from $550 million to nearly $800 million.
Richrath’s professional past and present affiliations include the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) Committee on Transportation Asset Management, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ Standing Committee on Finance and Administration, and the planning committee for several TRB Asset Management Conferences.
Richrath has a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in business administration. He will be based in Atkins’ Denver, Colorado, office.
