Paul Demit, a leader in the water wastewater industry with more than 20 years’ experience, has joined Atkins as senior vice president and director of their Public & Private business for North America. Demit is joining Atkins from MWH Global, Inc., where he has been senior vice president and director of Americas program management.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Demit will work with state and local governments as well as private entities to deliver solutions that address their most pressing needs. Before joining MWH Global, Demit’s career history includes having worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff as managing director of PB Water, and CH2M, where he held a number of leadership positions, including leading its water/wastewater design-build business in the eastern U.S. and serving as program manager for a $5 billion wastewater system capital improvement program in Ohio.

“Atkins is delighted to welcome Paul to our executive team,” Atkins’ North America CEO George Nash said. “An industry leader, Paul will help grow our service offering to our public and private clients nationwide, especially in the area of water/wastewater. His vast experience and connections with industry will bring new perspectives to our P&P business.”

Demit held senior management positions with the Boston Water and Sewer Commission and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. He is a Member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and the Water Environment Federation and served as a Member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the AWWA.
