Atkins provided civil infrastructure and structural engineering for the 72,500 seat, multi-award winning stadium, now a prominent and attractive landmark for Cardiff and Wales.

Atkins was responsible for the engineering design of this first opening roof stadium in the UK and the largest in Europe. The four mast scheme was the most economical means of supporting the roof and state-of-the-art analysis and modelling techniques helped to develop and refine the design of the steelwork.
