Asset management

Our strategic asset management services enable organisations to manage their assets and systems in a sustainable way to optimise their performance and minimise risk and expenditure.

PAS55 (The British Standards Institution’s Publically Available Specification for the optimized management of physical assets) is the cornerstone of our operations. Due to become an ISO accreditation in 2012, PAS55 will then be the industry standard. We are an early adopter – one of only a handful of companies worldwide to be an Endorsed Assessor, giving us the authority to guarantee that your assets are fully compliant and performing optimally.

Property asset management

Atkins’ can help you decide to replace, repair or maintain, by taking the guesswork out of asset management.

Our capital planning provides a schedule for planned maintenance that is so flexible and comprehensive it even takes account of changes to your property portfolio, re-forecasting your budget based on those variances. Finding the sweet spot between performance, risk and cost, maintenance moves from an expense to an investment. How? Because in the long run, it saves you money.

Two keys ways in which we apply knowledge are firstly trigger trending – the ability to plan the management of assets by identifying and predicting when they’ll need replacing; and secondly, simply to ensure you’re fully compliant. The reports we produce from this knowledge give you a budget that is defendable, backed up by evidence.

Water asset management

We use asset management techniques to develop and implement holistic asset management strategies to optimise asset life for all water-related structures. We balance capital investment with maintenance and operational needs to improve serviceability and safety and reduce performance risk.

Highways, rail and transport asset management

In the highways sector, Atkins works closely with clients to identify strategies for the operation, preservation and enhancement of highway infrastructure to meet the needs of current and future users.
