Atkins again named one of UK’s best employers - 09 March 2009

Atkins has once again been named one of the 20 Best Big Companies To Work For by the Sunday Times (8 March 2009), the biggest survey of workplace engagement in the UK.

Atkins came 10th in the 2009 list of the country’s best big employers following a confidential and independent survey involving 2,600 of its UK staff.  This is the fifth consecutive year Atkins has been named among the top firms, with the company climbing three places from last year’s listing.

The survey looks at companies with more than 5,000 staff in the UK, and measures key factors to creating a great workplace. One of the questions asked respondents if their ‘organisation made a positive difference to the world that we live in’. The answers from Atkins’ staff were extremely positive, earning the company the second highest ranking on this question.

Alun Griffiths, Atkins’ Group HR director, commented: “We are thrilled to have been recognised again by the Sunday Times, especially given the increasingly competitive nature of the survey. Our success is a reflection of the hard work we put in to ensure Atkins is a tremendous company to work for, but it is essential that we keep striving to get even better.”

The Sunday Times research placed Atkins among other leading names in the business world, including major accountancy, financial services and retailing firms.
