Atkins has joined forces with Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) to form Gloucestershire Highways which manages all highway responsibilities for more than 3,000 miles of road.

At Gloucestershire Highways staff working for Atkins, GCC and supply chain partners are co-located and work side by side to achieve a set of agreed outcomes. These outcomes cover everything from improving highway conditions to reducing accidents. In 2009, Atkins secured an extension to the Gloucestershire Highways contract and will now provide highway operations and maintenance services until 2014.
